About this Unit
This unit replaced by 200653 - Public International Law. As developments in technology and travel continue to shrink the distance between nations, issues of public international law become increasingly important. This unit explores the nature, role and characteristics of international law; concepts of statehood; sovereignty and jurisdiction; the relationship between domestic and international law; the role and law of treaties; and the role of international organisations such as the United Nations and International Court of Justice. The specific issues covered reflect contemporaneous and contentious issues of international law.
