About this Unit
This unit has been replaced by 101187 - Biology for Psychology. This is an introductory biology course for psychologists. It introduces the biological sciences and major theories of the life sciences. This unit covers the molecular basis to life, order in diversity, the structure of populations, phylogeny, a basic introduction to synthetic Darwinian theory, ecology and behavioural adaptations to the environment. It is laboratory based and students majoring in psychology are introduced to the biological underpinnings of abnormal, cognitive, learning and neurophysiological psychology via practicals.
