This unit offers a comprehensive introduction to the study of communication exploring significant issues in the conceptualisation of communication processes. It aims to introduce basic concepts in communication across a range of communication media and professional practices. Topics covered include rhetoric, mass communication, media studies, interpersonal communication, public communication and media arts. The study of communication is a diverse and still developing field. This unit recognises the diversity in the range of approaches selected in the study of human communication.
