About this Unit
The study of biomechanics and kinesiology is essential to an understanding of normal and abnormal functions of the neuromusculoskeletal system. This unit leads to the conceptualisation of kinesiopathology as it relates to the development and maintenance of somatic dysfunction. This unit is designed to integrate knowledge from anatomy and physiology to provide a means of understanding and analysing human movement patterns. This unit will present the principles and clinical applications of biomechanics and kinesiology, in context of osteopathic principles.This unit is ONLY available to students in courses 4544 B App Sci (Osteopathic Studies) or 0E63 B App Sci (Osteopathy).
