About this Unit
In this unit students will be shown how to use the multi disciplinary data
collected in Agriculture and Animal Systems to assess the performance and
sustainability of an Agriculture or Animal System. Principles from the systems
sciences will be introduced and used to model the complex patterns of
interaction that occur between ecological, economic and social components of
the system and between the system and its external environment. The systemic
mapping will be used to explain the reasons for the organisations performance
in managing its production systems and natural resource base and identifying
areas for further research and development.
