About this Unit
The last few years have witnessed an explosive growth in development and deployment of new networking and Internet technologies. This unit discusses such technologies, and the advanced features of networked systems and the Internet that are based on these technologies. Relevant protocols and emerging standards are also described. The unit includes an in-depth treatment of Internet traffic management, voice-over IP, mobile IP, the emerging wireless LAN standards, and network modelling and simulation approaches. Students are introduced to some of the relevant current key research issues of the field.
