About this Unit
This unit extends the knowledge and skills gained in 25059 Nutrition 1 and 25063 Nutrition 2 of taking case histories for nutritional assessment and interpreting diagnostic tests. Students acquire advanced skills in the nutritional management of clinical disorders. They learn to diagnose a client's nutritional status from both allopathic and naturopathic viewpoints and plan nutritional management of specific conditions. Clinical practice is integrated with 25067 Herbal Medicine 3 and 25068 Symptomatology and Diagnosis 2 clinical practice. Students assess and treat a range of clients on a one-to-one basis under supervision. Students make decisions about which clients are suitable for naturopathic clinic and those requiring referral. The unit enables students to consider the best treatment options from the range of naturopathic modalities and devise appropriate treatment plans.
