About this Unit
Commercial Transactions Law focuses on typical transactions encountered in legal professional practice and to enable students to consider and evaluate the statutory principles and regulations of commercial transactions. In particular, the unit introduces students to competition and consumer protection legislation, the Australian Consumer Law, the Sale of Goods Acts, international transactions, consumer credit, the Personal Property Securities Act, insurance, agency, bailment, bankruptcy and insolvency, and the role of regulators such as the ACCC and the ASIC in enforcing rules.
