This unit replaced by 200667.1 Global Enterprise Resource Planning in 2009. This unit replaced by 200552.1 Global Materials Management & Distribution (ERP) in 2008. This unit is designed to provide students the knowledge and skills required in developing and managing materials and distribution systems within ERP environments. The unit introduces the structure, processes and the role of enablers in understanding materials and distribution systems and equips the students with basic decision-making tools, techniques and concepts. It also illustrates how technology can be utilized to better manage the materials flow across the supply chain with emphasis on the effective use of data and information, coordination and integration of cross functional activities and processes etc towards achieving best practice performance levels.
