About this Unit
Students gain experience working with individuals and small groups of children (0-3 years) in early childhood settings. Students observe and interact with children and plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities and learning environments for children. Planning is based on interpretations of observations, children's interests and learning potential. Students apply knowledge and understanding gained in other units to the practical situation. They develop their understanding of the role of the early childhood educator as they assist in the organisation and preparation of the indoor and outdoor learning environments.
