About this Unit
This unit examines the fabrication, construction and manipulation of 3D tableaux and the creation of fictional worlds in the context of contemporary still life and architectural photography. Students study the history and practice of these genres and gain an understanding of the way in which meaning can be constructed in images. Students study intermediate colour, intermediate studio lighting, the manipulation of available light, large format camera use, set construction, and intermediate digital image processing (layering of images, image construction and montage).
