About this Unit
This unit is a conceptual and technical primer for the practical study of representational mark-making. Students develop their ability to visualise various given subjects in relation to their environments and contexts. Seen as a language, drawing provides design students with a direct form of communication to relate, interpret, and invent ideas and concepts. A sequence of projects leads the student's visual enquiries through a strategic selection of subject matter. The design elements and their communicative properties are considered in relation to observational and interpretive drawing.
