About this Unit
In 2017 this unit replaced by 102274 - Social Design: Research and Practice. This unit provides an understanding of a range of research methods appropriate to design in a practice context. Students will learn how to design and conduct simple field research exercises that will assist them in developing creative and intelligent design responses to the complex social scenarios of the contemporary world. The techniques and strategies students learn in this unit reflect the changing context of professional design where research skills are becoming more important. The unit is designed to support the creative work students undertake in Design Project in response to a set of design briefs.
