About this Unit
This unit explores the illustrative characteristics and historical and contemporary contexts of 'genre'. Students are introduced to theories of illustration as cultural commentary and develop their own visual communication skills through critical analysis of image and the manipulation of a variety of illustrative styles and techniques and media.
