About this Unit
Students develop their understanding of future possibilities and directions in graphic design through examination of the current marketplace, the role of the designer, current design applications and production methods. Design practice is examined in light of the background of shifting production languages, convergent technologies and professional design contexts. Fundamental graphic applications for print technologies and principles of print, page anatomy and construction will be addressed alongside design production literacies. An understanding of the role of process in design and a broader knowledge of roles and responsibilities inherent in design production processes will be explored.
