About this Unit
This unit focuses on the development of knowledge, understandings and technical skills of gymnastic commensurate with the requirements of the PDHPE years 7-10, Board of Studies syllabus teachers. Technical skills including individual, partner and group work is undertaken with an emphasis on motor learning stages, composition of performance and performance aspects. Different types of programming structures ranging from Kindygym and Gymfun through to more formal structured programs in gymnastics. Students will undertake practicum placements to complete requirements equivalent to the National Level 1 Gymnastics Coaching Certificate. Practicum placements will be at the students own expense and in students own time.
