About this Unit
This unit examines efficient human movement principles. An understanding of bodily systems and how they affect physical performance is examined. An understanding of the principles of efficient movement and how they apply to performance is examined through a range of movement tasks required for track and field athletics and basic movement tasks of throwing, jumping, balancing, striking and running. An examination of the instruments used in efficient movement analysis is undertaken. Practicum placements to complete the Australian Athletics Association ‘C’ officiating qualification is required. These practicum placements will be at the students own expense and in the students own time.
