About this Unit
In 2010 this unit replaced by 400808 - Outdoor Recreation. The development of outdoor recreation in Australia is examined through addressing societal needs. The development and delivery of outdoor recreation programs in the Public and Private sector is examined. A conceptual background to the more practical components of outdoor recreation is examined through the National Outdoor Recreation Competency Standards. Demonstration of a sound understanding of knowledge, technical skills and values in a broad range of Outdoor Recreation areas is required. Fieldwork is an integral component of the unit and is compulsory. A Senior First Aid certificate is required and can be undertaken during the session. The field work and senior First Aid is completed at the students own expense and in students own time.
