About this Unit
This unit will introduce to students the diversity of understandings that designers have developed to communicate how their design thinking relates to their actions. Using close readings of texts that have informed these different understandings, the unit will explore the relationship between emergent design theories and the evidence in the messages that surround us. The unit will introduce students to methods of structuring an analysis of the varied design arguments they will encounter in more detail throughout the program.
