About this Unit
This unit examines human behaviour and various psychological processes in a broad cross-cultural perspective. It begins with an overview of major historical and theoretical approaches to cross-cultural psychology and its relationship with other disciplines. It emphasises methodological difficulties in cross-cultural research and discusses how basic psychological processes are influenced and changed by cross-cultural factors. This unit focuses on issues of concern in both developmental and social psychology that might be influenced by culture and discusses questions of psychological adjustment of culturally diverse individuals.
