About this Unit
This unit has been replaced by 101198 - Principles and Practices of Forensic Psychology. This unit orients students to the many places that forensic psychologists work in justice administration, and introduces students to the corpus of skills that forensic psychologists use in their daily practice. Several related areas of forensic practice are examined, including: corrections, policing, juvenile justice, courts administration, probation and parole, community services, customs, security, education and training, and private practice. The unit provides a contextual framework for forensic psychology. A critical approach to present policies and practice is adopted, and students are introduced to the limitations of the Australian legal and justice administration systems.
