Students should follow the course structure for the course version relevant to the year they commenced. This version applies to students whose commencement year for this course is Quarter 3, 2018 or later.

The Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) equips students with an in-depth theoretical knowledge of accounting. On successful completion of this course, students gain knowledge, skills and expertise that enable them to become professional accounting practitioners and satisfy the pre entry educational requirements for CPA Australia Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). The course content delivers a contemporary education in accounting principles and procedures supported by knowledge of associated disciplines of law, economics and finance. Students will learn to apply accounting concepts, theories and models through a range of individual and collaborative means using a blended learning design that draws from industry relevant projects with exposure to realistic business problems.

Two years full-time or four years part-time.

Accredited by CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ)and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree, or higher, in any discipline

This degree is internationally accredited with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and students who complete this degree will receive exemptions from 11 ACCA papers.

Course Structure

Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 160 credit points which includes twelve School of Business post graduate Accounting core units and four electives.
