The Graduate Diploma in Stockbroking and Financial Advising prepares students to become practitioners as stockbrokers and advisers in the finance sector. The degree exposes students to modern theoretical approaches to financial markets, and incorporates applied units developed with individuals actively involved in the finance and investment sectors. Students will develop the capability to prepare informed financial advice for clients. Most importantly, the content of the degree is informed by regulations that govern the formal educational qualifications required by practitioners in the sector. This ensures that on completion of the program students have obtained a qualification that enables them to become practitioners in this industry and adopt the required ethical practices.

Accreditation
This course is accredited by the Financial Planning Education Council (FPEC). This course is accredited by the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) having met the FASEA curriculum and standards requirements for the award.

Admission

Applicants must have:

Successfully completed an undergraduate degree, or higher, in a business discipline; Or

Successfully completed an advanced diploma, or higher, in a business discipline and have a minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience in a stockbroking/financial advising field.

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience must support their application with a current CV for all work experience listed on their application and a Confirmation of Employment for all work experience listed on the application. Only applicants seeking admission through an established industry partnership agreement can provide an agreed alternative to the Confirmation of Employment. The confirmation of employment can be either be a letter on employer letterhead specifying their role and length of service or the industry declaration form.
