Psychology is the field of inquiry that uses scientific techniques and methods to understand and explain behaviour and experience. As a profession, it involves the application of psychological knowledge to practical problems in human behaviour. Units in the program are drawn from the following topic areas of psychology: history of psychology, biological psychology, learning, social psychology, lifespan development, sensation and perception, individual differences, personality and cognitive processes.

The Bachelor of Psychology is a four-year program, comprising a 160–credit point accredited psychology sequence and an 80-credit point elective sequence in the first three years, followed by either a specialist fourth year that includes a major research project, or an embedded Honours for eligible students.

Accreditation
This course is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). Graduates of this award will be eligible for Provisional registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and for associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS)

Admission

UAC entry – competitive ATAR; or equivalent rank for school leavers and non-recent school leavers. Applicants with completed or partially completed university degree must have achieved a GPA of 5 or above.
