In 2022, this unit replaced by unit 102901 - Cyber Behaviour (BEHV1026). Psychology is the scientific discipline of understanding, explaining and predicting human behaviour and cognition. This introductory unit will explore the topics of Psychology most relevant to its application in the world - particularly as it applies to industry. This unit will teach the basics of Psychology and psychological research such as report writing and the APA style. Topics will include the history of psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, sensation & perception, motivation, learning and research methods. Students should note that this unit is not part of an accredited sequence as specified by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC), and is not appropriate for students seeking future registration as a psychologist.
