About this Unit
This unit focuses on the principles and practice of health service management. The unit draws on material from different settings to consider governance, policy, and strategic planning. Students will critique health system reforms, including those that aim to address healthcare inequity. The role of politics and policy will be discussed to clarify the impact on health service management. The unit will explore how health service operations are managed and how performance and outcomes are measured. Students will also explore how patients, carers, and other stakeholders shape health service management.
