About this Unit
Students with an interest in how and why science is communicated will benefit from this introductory interdisciplinary science unit. Using case studies and articles, students will consider how science is communicated in different settings and genres, through a range of oral, print and digital media, and what frameworks and methods have been proposed for studying these communications. The unit will explore how scientists communicate with each other and look at the role of public engagement activities, scientific papers, the media and digital communication forms in representing the sciences.

Students are required to have access to the internet and appropriate hardware and software for online study.
