Design-led innovation has become influential in the development of new products and services, has inspired the development of new business models and driven new job creation. In this advanced design studio unit, students synthesise their prior learning to develop new solutions. Through the use of an iterative conceptual development and product prototyping process, students will work in teams and individually to achieve new product development outcomes much sought-after by employers. Teams from an array of disciplines including industrial design, engineering, architecture, ICT, health and medical sciences use inspiring application of virtual reality (VR) and 3D printing to communicate and develop new solutions.
