This unit has been replaced by 101318 - Gender and Society. This unit introduces students to the growing scholarship of gender relations in history, literature and social sciences. It examines topics in women's studies and masculinity studies. Students' own experiences are taken as a basis for promoting understanding of the relationship between individual lives and social issues. Health, work, the family, education, sexuality, art and language are the concepts addressed as being of prime significance in a study of gender issues.
