About this Unit
This unit replaced by 200547.1 Macroeconomic Theory in 2008. This unit builds on the basic tools of analysis introduced in Macroeconomics. Neoclassical and Keynesian models of income determination are examined in detail in relation to inflation, unemployment and balance of payments problems. In addition, we analyse the determinants of components of aggregate demand (consumption, investment, etc). A final section considers long-run issues like economic growth and technological change. Policy issues are analysed using macroeconomic models.
