The Graduate Certificate in Child & Family Health (Karitane) aims to provide Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives with theoretical knowledge and associated skills that prepare them to work autonomously and across a variety of clinical settings with children and families. Graduates will be able to apply advanced nursing concepts and analysis to promote optimal health outcomes for children and families. Students who successfully complete this course may transfer into the Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Health (Karitane).

Admission

Candidature for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Child & Family Health (Karitane) is based on the following requirements:

Registered Nurse or Midwife (currently registered to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Nursing and Midwifery). Any other type of registration (non-practicing, limited, or student) is not acceptable for this course

And

One year full-time equivalent work experience as a registered nurse or registered midwife within the last five years.

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience MUST support their application with a statement of service for all work experience listed on the application.

Statement of Service

Applications from Australian and New Zealand citizens and holders of permanent resident visas must be made via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Use the links below to apply via UAC or Western Sydney University.  Applications made directly to Western Sydney do not have an application fee.

Applicants who have undertaken studies overseas may have to provide proof of proficiency in English.
