About this Unit
Accepting and embracing the ageing population as assets and not a burden is important towards enabling older people to continue living in security and to fully participate in society. For this to occur, the future of work, design and social spaces need to be responsive to the needs of ageing populations. This unit offers students with the opportunity to assess and reflect on the domains of age-friendliness in alignment with World Health Organisation (WHO) Age-friendly framework relevant to their interest, or their work practice settings. The WHO age-friendly domains, inputs from older people, carers of older people and service providers, are elements to be considered in this proposed quality improvement project.
