About this Unit
This unit replaced by 200682 Convention and Special Event Management in 2009. This unit provides students with the knowledge and an appreciation of the skills required to effectively design, manage, stage and evaluate a broad range of meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions. It allows students to explore their ability to apply this knowledge and exercise their skills, within a framework of experiential, student-centred individual and group learning. Theoretical concepts are discussed during lectures and tutorials; the practical application of these concepts are explored by students when independently researching a public event, and when documenting an event to be staged by students.
