About this Unit
This unit further develops the work of integration of voice, movement and acting studies in performance. Through reading, observation, criticism, and class exercises in embodiment, students develop a deeper understanding of issues of integration. The application of integration in interpreting a written text and in creating a performance text is explored. A major project in performance integration is developed throughout the session, with students developing a paper describing the process of integration mapped by the project. The unit is a further development of the notion of performance as research.
