Students should follow the course structure for the course version relevant to the year they commenced. This version applies to students whose commencement year for this course is 2018 (Quarter 3) or later.

This course provides the opportunity for advanced level study in property investment, development and valuation. Graduates will comprehend the multi-disciplinary nature of the property industry and be equipped with the analytical and decision making skills necessary for adaptable careers in the changing and dynamic property investment, development and valuation industry.

Study Mode
Two years full-time or four years part-time.

Accreditation
This course is accredited for the following Australian Property Institute Certifications (depending on units completed): 160 Credit Point Pathway - Depending on elective chosen, students may be eligible for API Certified Asset Manager, Certified Property Manager, Certified Development Practitioner, Certified Funds Manager, Certified Practicing Valuer, Certified Property Practitioner. 120 Credit Point Pathway - Depending on elective chosen, students may be eligible for API Certified Asset Manager, Certified Property Manager, Certified Development Practitioner, Certified Practicing Valuer, Certified Property Practitioner. 80 Credit Point Pathway - Depending on unit achieved, students may be eligible for API Certified Asset Manager, Certified Development Practitioner, Certified Property Practitioner. Note - Certifications achieved by any graduate of the Master of Property Investment and Development will be impacted (reduced) where specified units are substituted for electives. None of these certifications apply to the Graduate Certificate in Property Investment.

Admission

160 Credit Point Pathway

Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree, or higher, in any discipline.

120 Credit Point Pathway

Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree, or higher, in:

a business or Australian Property Institute (API)-recognised cognate discipline, for example: property, town planning, construction, architecture or quantity surveying;

Or

any discipline and a minimum of two years full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience in roles property valuation, property management, property investment and analysis, property development, property fund management or associated roles;

Or

Students who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Property Investment at Western Sydney University should take the 120 cp pathway.

80 Credit Point Pathway

Applicants must have successfully completed:

a graduate diploma, or higher, in a property related discipline; or (NO UG or GC)

Or

an undergraduate degree in a property related discipline (such as property, town planning, construction, architecture, quantity surveying or related); AND with a GPA of 5.0 or WAM (Weighted Average Mark) of 65+ (if provided on the academic record);

Or

an undergraduate degree, or higher, in a business or Australian Property Institute (API)-recognised cognate discipline, for example town planning, construction, architecture, quantity surveying or related) AND a minimum of two years full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience in roles property valuation, property management, property investment and analysis, property development, property fund management or associated roles;

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience must support their application with a Statement of Service for all work experience listed on the application.

Statement of Service

Applications from Australian and New Zealand citizens and holders of permanent resident visas must be made via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Use the links below to apply via UAC or Western Sydney University. Applications made directly to Western Sydney do not have an application fee.

Applicants who have undertaken studies overseas may have to provide proof of proficiency in English.
